I like to start things and to make things happen. I ask a lot of questions and try to find the answers. I bring most value when my design thinking is applied to solve problems worth solving. Branding is my current area of focus.
I have created the visual expression and brand governance systems of many Irish corporate brand identities, including The Irish Stock Exchange, UCD, NUI Galway, IDA Ireland, The Houses of the Oireachtas, NAMA, Taxi Regulator, Luas, and Fáilte Ireland.
I have a Masters in Professional Design Practice. I wrote my dissertation on blogging within the Irish graphic design industry. I am particularly engaged with the changes within branding, brand thinking, marketing and business culture caused by emergent and disruptive new media and technologies.
My book Thinking Out Loud collects the first nine years of my blog in one volume.
I am Brand Consultant and Design Director with BFK, a Dublin-based consultancy.
