Ailís Travers
Lecturer and Teacher in Ireland
Dr Ailís Travers is the Academic Director for School Placement in ATU School of Education Sciences. Ailís’ teaching and research focuses on Initial Teacher Education (ITE), inclusive education, religious education (RE), ethical, multi-belief and values education (EMBVE), and digital literacy.
Ailís has experience working in early childhood education, primary education and almost two decades at post-primary level. She was a Team Leader with Junior Cycle for Teachers, designing and facilitating CPD to support national curriculum reform. Ailís was a member of the Department of Education working group for the Digital Strategy for Schools to 2027.
As well as providing CPD for teachers in Ireland, Ailís has had the privilege of working with teachers and students in Honduras, Australia, India, Sierra Leone, South Africa and the USA. Ailís is passionate about fostering creativity in teaching and learning and was awarded the Association of Creativity and Arts in Education Creative Schools Award.
