Áine Mckeever

Hamden, Connecticut, United States

Hello, my name is Áine Mckeever. I am from Derry City, Northern Ireland, and now entering my fifth year as a foriegn-exchange student at Quinnipiac University, Hamden, CT. In August 2010, I followed a long-life dream to pursue an four-year undergraduate degree and play collegiate soccer in the United States.

During my four years as a Media Studies undergraduate, I gained vaulable experience in fields ranging from journalism, video production, marketing and public relations. In terms of internship experience, I have worked primarily within the soccer realm. In the summer of 2013 I had the privilege to work with the biggest youth soccer organization in North America, Global Premier Soccer and their major partners for example; Adidas, AS Roma FC, Boston Breakers and US Soccer. I have also had experience working with CFC Azul FC and this summer worked as an intern in the Quinnipiac Athletics office of academic support. I have decided to stay at Quinnipiac and enroll in the two-year public relations master's program. Alongside my graduate studies, I have also had the opportunity to join the QU Division I Women's Rugby program in my final year of collegiate athletics. Athletics continues to play an integral role in my life and thus far has helped influence my behaviors as an individual and as a professional.

I am fortunate to be a recepient of quality education and hope to one day share my expertise with local communities back home in Northern Ireland. Over the next two years, I want to widen my focus beyond sports and gain experience in other sectors of PR.

I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time out to view my profile and would like to welcome the opportunity to speak to you further.

Thank you
