Amina Issack
Student, Community Resource Specialist, and Mentor in Seattle, WA
Hi, I’m Amina. I’m UW Bothell alumni living in Seattle, WA. I doubled major in Health Studies and Community Psychology with minors in Health Education & Promotion and Global Health. I'm very passionate about Mental Health and community health and wellness resources Programming and I’m planning to get my master’s in Public Health (Health Services) and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I aim to understand and identify healthcare disparities within undeveloped countries. To do so, I want to examine developed countries to highlight the issues within the healthcare system in those countries. Through my research and coursework with my focus area, I've examined global health and social issues impacted by health disparities in our healthcare system today. I hope to contribute to the improvement of health disparities by providing resources in community-level change.
I love dancing, singing, running, adventurous activities, hot yoga, traveling, cats, spending time with my family and try out authentic foods. I’m also an adrenaline junkie so I love horror movies, skydiving, ziplining, roller coasters. Yes, you heard it right, you name all the crazy adrenaline activities and I'll jump right in!
