Glenda "Aiwa" Florez is a Professional Polynesian Dancer, Instructor, and Choreographer. She started to dance as a child and has danced Professionally for more than 20 years. She has studied the art of Polynesian Dance in numerous Hālau or Hula Schools throughout the U.S. as well as in Europe. Most of her Hula training comes from the Ilima style of dance. She performed for The Mai-Kai Polynesian Restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for 12 years. There she learned more than Hula but also dances from Tahiti, New Zealand, and Samoa.

She developed Polynesian Dance Aerobics and taught dance fitness classes in Florida for 4 years.

She currently has her own group in Aurora, Colorado- Kalama Polynesian Dancers and Polynesian Party Planners INC. They specialize in workshops, performances (birthdays, corporate parties, weddings, etc), fresh flower lei, and fire performances. Kalama Polynesian Dancers also competes in various Polynesian Dance Competitions.

Aiwa is also the founder of Hālau Kalama a Non-Profit 501c3 Organization who's mission is to preserve and perpetuate of Native Pacific Islands’ culture and heritage through music, dance, language, and education.

Aiwa and her team teaches children and adults the songs and dances of Hawai’i, New Zealand, Tahiti, Samoa. Tahitian Drumming and Siva Afi (Fire Knife/Spinning) classes are also available.
