I spent my childhood in Boise, Idaho, catching grasshoppers and writing stories. My biggest dream in the whole world was to be a writer. I never gave up on my dream.
My first children's picture book, Mama's Purse, has won six local and national awards. I have received excellent reviews from The Idaho Statesman, and popular websites such as Mother Daughter Book Reviews and The Positive Mom. My work has also appeared in the magazine Midwifery Today.
I love attending writing workshops and traveling around Idaho to participate in book signings and readings. I am an active member of the SCBWI, Idaho Writers Guild, and Idaho Authors' Community. I received a B.A. in journalism and women's and gender studies from the University of Oregon.
When I'm not writing, I enjoy camping, fishing, and canoeing with my husband, two children, and our Weimaraner, Charlie Blue. You can learn more about my work at ajsbooksllc.com.
