Listen to my music

When asked how he would describe himself, Ajani would confidently reply, “a Rolling Stone...Minus the Guitar”. Being uprooted as a child from his native Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Ajani was quickly hit with culture shock upon arriving to the United States. Juggling his childhood between Jamaica and the East Coast, his experiences sharpened both his taste buds and ears. “I love music in all forms and genres; music is my heart beat.” He continues, “It keeps me going and gives me a reason to wake up in the morning looking to live on.”

Ajani was always into poetry as a child, and at the age of 18, began to write lyrics for fun. Two years later he decided after not being able to cope with the twists and turns of his shady life, that he would formulate a flow fueled by the pain and turmoil. Avid fans would say that it’s the pent-up pain and anger that gives Ajani his raspy and raw, untamed sound. That edge you hear as the music creeps through your ears and into your soul, is Ajani allowing the melody to re-write his past and guide his steps. Ajani believes that in any aspect of music, versatility is a key factor. He believes that a story is required in any musical endeavor, not a crime story, or a fabricated image or approach.
