Alfred Khallouf

Dr. Alfred Khallouf is a Comprehensive Dentist who is passionate about everything from oral surgery to promoting basic dental health. Dr. Khallouf has wanted to be a dentist since he was 8 years old.

His higher education, however, did not begin in the dental field. In 1997, Dr. Alfred Khallouf received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Pennsylvania State University. He went on to attend dental school at Howard University. Howard’s dental program was very challenging, but Dr. Alfred Khallouf’s perseverance combined with the sense of community he gained from his peers at Howard led him to success. At the time, Dr. Alfred Khallouf felt that attending Dental School at Howard University was the most difficult thing he had experienced. In reality, it was just the beginning.

Dr. Alfred Khallouf then entered the Air Force for 9 years, through which he practiced dentistry. This program was extremely rigorous. When he participated in this residency, he would often find himself staying up until 2 or 3 in the morning and waking up around 6 or 7 due to the intense workload. Despite these difficulties, Dr. Khallouf is extremely thankful for this experience and believes it was a very important factor in shaping who he is today. He was able to gain experience in every aspect of dentistry and was able to practice dentistry in Alabama, California, Maryland, Texas, and Washington D.C. He was also able to practice in the country of Turkey, which was an exceptional experience.

Dr. Alfred Khallouf feels it is important to spread information about proper dental care. Many people believe that proper dental care and hygiene is achieved simply by visiting the dentist. What many people don't realize is that patients need to care for their teeth year-round. It is important to pay attention to what we are eating and drinking and how well we are cleaning our teeth. It is a patient’s duty to keep his or her teeth clean and a dentist's duty to take care of that result. Dr. Alfred Khallouf’s favorite part of his job is oral surgery. He loves immersing himself into a hands-on activity that he can feel good about.
