Adigizi Akpus
Public Speaker, Project Manager, and Aspiring Pharmacist in Jos
Akpus Adigizi is an exemplary Pharmacy student leader, political activist, and advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He is the current President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students University of Jos Chapter, where he has been instrumental in organising numerous public health advocacy campaigns and social justice movements over the last five years.
As a co-founder of the One Child Africa Project, Akpus and his team have empowered children in underserved communities in Africa through board games and access to education. Additionally, Akpus has mentored young individuals who are willing to learn and grow into exceptional leaders in society through his mentorship platform.
Beyond his work in healthcare and social justice, Akpus is also an advocate for the United Nations SDGs. In particular, he is passionate about SDG 3 - Good Health and Wellbeing, and has successfully organised several public health advocacy campaigns and social justice movements around this goal. As a fellow of the United Nations Millennium Development programme, Akpus has leveraged his position to advocate for sustainable development in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
He carried out a project on sensitisation and elimination of Viral hepatitis C in 2021. This project was targeted to both young and old as about 300 persons benefited from the project.
Akpus passion for politics is also evident in his leadership and advocacy. He hopes to see positive change in Nigeria, particularly in the area of leadership. He believes that good leadership is the key to unlocking the potential of Nigeria and Africa, and he has worked tirelessly to mentor young individuals who share his vision. Akpus work in politics and advocacy has earned him recognition and respect from his peers and from leaders in the community and across various institutions in the country such as University of porthacourt, Bingham University Nasarawa State, Igbenidion University Okada, University of Uyo Akwa Ibom State and others.
Overall, Akpus Adigizi is an outstanding Pharmacy student leader who is making a difference in his community through his work in healthcare advocacy, political activism, and advocacy for the United Nations SDGs.
His dedication and passion for change serve as an inspiration to others, and his leadership has had a positive impact on the lives of many people in his community and beyond.
