I am a cognitive science doctoral researcher at the University of California San Diego, where I study how children think, learn, and regulate themselves in real-world settings. My work sits at the intersection of learning sciences, affective cognition, and AI-driven learning design. I am especially interested in how learning systems can support cognition and self-regulation under real-world constraints.

I design and study learning experiences that live beyond the lab, including classroom games, tangible computational tools, and speech-based learning systems built around sound, voice, and embodied interaction. These systems are developed and deployed with schools and communities across the US and India, allowing research, design, and educational practice to inform one another.

My background spans robotics, constructionist learning, and maker education. Over the past decade, I have designed haptic and robotic systems for skill development, built learning technologies for classrooms, and created curricula for product design, tinkering, and computational thinking. This work has been shaped by close collaborations with educators, students, and communities, particularly in under-resourced and low-literacy contexts.

Alongside research and product development, I am motivated by care and stewardship. I have spent years volunteering as an animal caregiver, working with street dogs and injured wildlife, an experience that deeply informs how I think about responsibility, vulnerability, and design.
