Must have Team Building Exercises
1. Scavenger Hunt
Depending on the space available in your company, you can organize a scavenger hunt for your team. A scavenger hunt enables your team members to move around and learn to collaborate. It can be played indoors or outdoors, depending on the space availability in your office or the preference of your team members.
In a scavenger hunt, the team is divided into smaller teams. Each team consists of three to five members. Here’s how the game works, you hide random objects and ask different groups to find them. The first group to find these objects, or at least one object, depending on the scavenger hunt’s rules, that team wins.
2. Human Knot
This is an interesting game. You ask team members to come and stand in a circle and ask everyone to join hands together like a knot. It becomes a human knot. While they’re connected with each other, ask them to spread their arms and connect with each other using the other arm, which is not tied. This way, whoever lets go of anyone’s hand, loses.
3. Blind Retriever
This brings childhood memories back to me. It’s another interesting game that involves team members in an interesting search. A person is blindfolded, and he/she has to find a particular object with the help of others’ guidance. This helps teams understand how to work under pressure. How does this game work? Well, you need to split team members into small groups. Each team gets a person with a blindfold. They’ve to guide their team member who is blindfolded to succeed in their assigned missions. The one who successfully completes their mission first wins.
