Andrew Kunihiro, MS, RD

Scientist in Seattle, WA, USA

Scientist with a background in cancer and nutrition with over 5 years of experience investigating the metabolism and bioactivity of dietary compounds (omega-3/6 and dietary polyphenols) in health and the identification of circulating biomarkers for early cancer diagnosis, resulting in >10 peer-reviewed manuscripts, including 3 first-author publications, and 10 conference abstracts. Experience in grantsmanship, including procurement of over $75k in funding through an NIH F31 predoctoral fellowship.

Experience in: protein/RNA/DNA biochemistry, Western blot, qPCR, immunoassays, cancer cell culture, mouse cancer models, flow cytometry, IHC, microscopy, PK/PD

I am interested in leveraging these skills as a scientist in industry, either at the bench or in a support role. I am a fast learner with proven ability to rapidly gain proficiency in new technologies.

Currently residing in Seattle, but willing to relocate. When I am not in the lab, I enjoy hanging out with my dog Otis, tinkering with technology, reading (mostly science fiction and historical non-fiction), or home brewing beer.
