Akyaa is a Ghanaian-American environmental technologist and blogger who works to create solutions for environmental challenges in Ghana, West Africa.

As Innovations Manager for Jekora Ventures Ltd, a premier waste management company in Accra, Ghana, she is responsible for their Solid Waste Source Segregation Program, creating systems for clients to participate in solid waste separation using recycling and other waste-to-resource technologies. She also oversees the manufacture of compost products for Ghanaian farmers and landscapers.

As founder of The Green Ghanaian Initiative, an educational non-profit, she leads a team hosting an online Environmental Resource Center. There she also blogs on sanitation. The GGI seeks to educate, discuss and devise local solutions and generate environmental consciousness, especially among the youth. It also strives to be the digital hub of environmental information in Ghana.

Akyaa is passionate about waste management, recycling, systems innovation and young Ghanaians.

In the past she has worked for Tseai Energy Unlimited, SkyFox Ltd., Waste Enterprisers and Energy Solutions Foundation.
