Mahfuz Al-Hamid is an Imam, educator, entrepreneur, community leader, and interfaith advocate based in Connecticut. Originally from Bangladesh, he grew up in a family devoted to Islamic scholarship, education, and community service. This environment shaped his lifelong commitment to faith, learning, ethical leadership, and service to humanity.
Mahfuz Al-Hamid earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Islamic Studies from the University of Dhaka, specializing in Shariah, Tafsir, and Hadith. He later began advanced research on the Unity of Humanity, with particular attention to how communities can maintain cooperation and Mutual Respect despite differences of opinion. His academic interests also include Christian-Muslim relations, interfaith dialogue, religious pluralism, universal human dignity, and the role of faith in building a more peaceful world.
After moving to the United States, Mahfuz Al-Hamid began serving Muslim communities in Connecticut. He has served as an imam since 2016 and currently serves at the Islamic Center of Wallingford. His responsibilities include delivering Friday sermons, teaching Qur’an and Islamic studies, leading youth and adult educational programs, providing spiritual counseling, officiating marriages, supporting families during times of difficulty, and helping community members navigate religious and personal challenges.
As an educator, Imam Mahfuz Al-Hamid is passionate about presenting Islam in a clear, balanced, practical, and compassionate manner. He works especially closely with young Muslims, helping them develop strong faith, sound character, intellectual confidence, and a meaningful connection with Allah. His teaching emphasizes that Islamic knowledge should not remain theoretical—it should inspire honesty, responsibility, mercy, service, and positive contributions to society.
Mahfuz Al-Hamid is also deeply committed to dawah and interfaith engagement. Through sermons, public conversations, educational programs, articles, and community outreach, he seeks to explain Islamic beliefs thoughtfully while encouraging respectful dialogue among people of different faiths. His long-term academic goal is to contribute to the study of Christian-Muslim relations and develop an Islamic framework for human unity, peaceful coexistence, and cooperation for the common good.
Beyond religious and educational work, Mahfuz Al-Hamid is an entrepreneur and the founder and chairman of Team United Corporation, a Connecticut-based company focused on ethical investment, real estate, property development, business creation, and community-centered economic growth. His business philosophy is guided by Islamic principles, social responsibility, long-term value, and the belief that financial success should benefit families, investors, employees, and the wider community.
His entrepreneurial interests include real estate investment and development, property renovation, construction, education, agriculture, halal food businesses, and sustainable community projects. He is particularly interested in developing ventures that combine profitability with meaningful social impact.
Mahfuz Al-Hamid is also an aspiring author with several planned books and educational projects covering Islamic faith, spirituality, family life, interfaith dialogue, dawah, parenting, finance, the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and the Islamic understanding of Jesus Christ. Through his writing, teaching, leadership, and business initiatives, he hopes to leave a legacy of beneficial knowledge, ethical enterprise, stronger communities, and sincere service to God and humanity.
