With great excitement and pride, I am beginning my 9th year back home at NEISD and my 12th year in Education! I am a former graduate and a state champion from Winston Churchill High School, who played college soccer for UIW @ SA. After working in the private sector a few years, I returned to school and graduated from Texas State University in 2012, earning a degree in ELA with an emphasis in creative writing. Furthermore, coaching and playing soccer have been a passion of mine, so for over 12 years I have officiated and coached the sport. In regards to education, I have taught British Literature for 8 years, Senior AP ELA for 1 year, ELA III for 1 year, and Freshman ELA for 1 year. Fortunately, I married my wife Monica in 2015, and as a result, she blessed me with my two stepdaughters, Ysabella and Yliz. Charles Santiago, my first-born, arrived in February of 2017. Consequently, his brother David Leonel arrived two days after Christmas 2018, so now I adore a family of six. Essential life elements for me include family time, reading short fiction or the news, modifying my Jeep Renegade, doing anything outdoors, teaching and coaching, and traveling.
