Alan J. Bauman, M.D.

Boca Raton, Florida, United States

Hi! I'm Dr. Alan J. Bauman and I've dedicated my medical career to helping people who are suffering from hair loss. When I was young, I watched my father go through his hair loss battle using lotions, potions and eventually a hairpiece. While I didn't know at the time that it would eventually be my professon to help men and women with thinning hair and hair loss (...and even help restore my father's full head of hair through hair transplantation!) it did teach me about the impact of hair loss and the value of a healthy head of hair.

Through my years in college and medical school I became increasingly interested in the "artistic" or cosmetic side of surgery. My first mentors were a Plastic Surgeon and a Hair Transplant Surgeon--always guiding me to be a student of nature and to compassionately care for those patients seeking help.

Since starting my solo practice in 1997, I've since been blessed with the opportunity to help thousands of men and women successfully fight and win the battle against hair loss. One of the most exciting parts of my job is that the tools and techinques in the medical and surgical treatment of hair loss are constantly changing for the better--keeping my staff and I on our toes, for sure!

Being board-certified in Hair Restoration and recognized by the American and International Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) exemplifies my committment to the field of hair restoration and hair transplant surgery. Often I'm asked by colleagues and the media to lecture, teach, demonstrate and share the latest successful techniques of hair loss diagnosis and treatment--which has helped spread the latest info to physicians and especially patients who can benefit from these breakthroughs.

New treatments like compounded minoxidil or finasteride, low level laser therapy, cell therapy or PRP platelet rich plasma as well as in eyelash, eyebrow, beard and body hair transplantation are coming available at a rapid pace, but probably the biggest "thrill" my staff and I receive is seeing our our patients reach their hair restoration goal.

Restoring a healthier head of hair makes you look good and feel great, but there's a lot of misinformation out there! The good news is that if you start medical treatment early, you will be able to reduce the need for more invasive procedures.
