In Jan 2015, Alan was appointed as Senior Advisor to the IP Exchange CleanTech Asia (www.ipexcleantech.com) an initiative of the Asian Development Bank.
Prior to that, he was Director of the International Engagements Department in Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS). At the same time, he was also the founding Director of IPOS International Pte Ltd (IPOS-I), a wholly owned subsidiary of IPOS.
Alan also spend 5 years in Abu Dhabi, UAE as the Strategy Advisor to the Board of Directors and Director-General in Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD). The ADFD was set up by the Abu Dhabi government in 1971 with a paid-up capital of UAE Dhs6 billion (US$2 billion).
His other management roles included: founding Director of the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise; Project Director in International Enterprise Singapore; Director’s Advisor to the Board of Directors in the Asian Development Bank, Private-Sector Liaison Officer in World Bank.
Alan holds an MBA (2004) and BSc Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1997). In 2009 he received a diploma from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in recognition of his successful qualification as EFQM Excellence Assessor 2010 Model.
