I am an educator, researcher and consultant in the field of strategic innovation. My work is focused on human-centered product, service and business model innovation following the principles and tools of Design Thinking.
Within this frame I have collaborated with several large firms and over a dozen different early-stage startups, two of which I am a founding member. My work in this field lead to the founding of SparkLabs, an association between the two Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology (EPFL and ETHZ) with the goal to educate the innovation leaders of today and tomorrow through the principles of Design Thinking and build a community of like minded experts and alumni.
I began my career as an engineer and team leader at ABB in the energy sector. I hold a couple of technical and business diplomas from renown institutions in various countries, was a visiting researcher at Stanford University and obtained my PhD at EPFL in the field of strategy and innovation.
I have a strong involvement in social causes, having participated and lead relief, education and entrepreneurship initiatives. Through these experiences, in my work I strive to find a pragmatic balance between the technical, business and human aspects of every project. It is precisely this balance is at the core of Design Thinking as a path to sustainable innovation.
