Alan Sii is currently a Graduate Researcher Assistant pursuing an MPhil degree at Monash University. He is expected to graduate in June 2021. He loves taking on a wide range of challenges to build on his academic foundations in computer science. He enjoys picking up new skills by getting his hands dirty.

During his research, he uses mainly MATLAB and Python for data exploration and experiments. He enjoys the process of breaking down problems and tackle them in smaller chunks.

Alan understands the importance of good listening, a skill he has been practising in his professional and personal life. It all started for him as a middle child trying to figure out who is right during the siblings' fight. He learnt first to listen, reason and then taking the right action.

His multiple volunteering experiences also make him very versatile, both as a leader and member. One of his most meaningful volunteering experiences was organising a children camp for marginalised children. He successfully led a team of twelve from different faculties through managing resources and people.

He enjoys good books, good food, good companionship, and a good sweat during his free time. You will probably see him cooking in the kitchen, hanging out with his friends or out doing a 10K run.

Alan is currently looking for an opportunity after his time at Monash University. Feel free to reach out to him at alan [at] hotmail [dot] my
