I am the Director of Service at Coventry Independent Advice Service. The charity offers free advice, information and support on social security benefits, debt and other welfare issues. I am also the chairperson of the National Association of Welfare Rights Advisers (NAWRA).

I was previously Head of Citizens Advice Specialist Support (Welfare Benefits) service, leading a team providing second-tier consultancy support to all Citizens Advice offices in England & Wales alongside the development and delivery of a national training programme.

I have worked in the advice sector since for over 25 years. I have been editor of ‘Adviser’ magazine, Citizens Advice flagship social welfare periodical, have managed an independent advice centre in Coventry and have worked as a Welfare Rights Officer in Sunderland.

I spends my spare time with music, film, travel, socialising and supporting Sunderland football club.
