Alanna Morris-Van Tassel

I am a freelance dancer currently living in Saint Paul, Minnesota. My interests range from the arts and education, to politics, wine, and entrepreneurship.

I have spent 10 seasons with dance company, TU Dance (Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri sands, co-artistic directors), featured in works by Kyle Abraham, Gioconda Barbuto, Camille A. Brown, Ron K. Brown, Greg Dolbashian, Katrin Hall, Francesca Harper, Dwight Rhoden, and Uri Sands.

I am currently producing my first solo concert to premiere in Minneapolis May 2018.

In September 2017, I spent a month in Trinidad as a Artist-In-Residence with Art On Purpose, where I commissioned a new solo by Jamie Philbert, taught a workshop and gave a public showing of the works-in-progress!

Classes: 2 yr - Adult. With dance training spanning Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop and the African Diaspora, my classes challenge students' imagination, placing dance in an historical and cultural context that supports their personal and academic growth.
