Alanna Sousa

I was born in Maranhão, northwest of Brazil, but raised in the world.

As aGlobal Citizen I´ve already known the best and worst of five different continents, where I´ve learned how to deal with differences and discovered a passion for jobs with purpose.

I have earned a Bachelor´s in Law School from CESUSC, and I´m about to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Social Innovation Management from The Amani Institute.

I´ve been working in the nonprofit sector since 2011, which I´ve figured is the kind of environment where I am at my best. While currently living and studying in Nairobi, I also work as Associate, Venture&Fellowship in Ashoka East Africa, being responsible for developing and facilitating a guideline program for supporting the Ashoka´s fellows in planning, measuring and reporting social impact. In addition to it, I am the Business Development Manager of Liter of Light Kenya.

Previously, I co-founded, in 2012, the Brazilian chapter of Liter of Light, where I held responsibility for managing the national team and fundraised for the organisation. In the same year I found my own company, Todoos Impacto Social, a Consultancy for Social Impact, after 1 year working as Project´s Coordinator in Junior Achievement Santa Catarina. These experiences led me to develop a strong communication, strategic planning and leadership skills, as well as an entrepreunarial mindset.

As a recognition for my efforts in the social sector, in 2014 I was nominated, by Unilever, the Brazilian official representative leader to take part in the Nudge Global Leadership Challenge, in Amsterdam – Netherlands.

I am passionate about topics involving social entrepreneurship, youth leadership programs and energy acess.
