With more than 20 years experience teaching Technology & ICT in Northern England, Alan first converted to Teach Computing in 2010. Starting from zero with no qualifications in Computer Science, he has persuaded 1000s of teachers to follow him. Shortlisted for NAACE ICT Impact award in 2013, in 2014 he won a TalkTalk Digital Hero Award and in 2015 was named as a BBC Make It Digital One To Watch digital influencer.
Alan started Hack To The Future events [report] [film] to inspire & engage the digital creators of tomorrow, then established the Raspberry Jam community [site] [film] to share the educational potential of the Raspberry Pi computer. Supported by DfE & Raspberry Pi, Alan took Jam Packed UK [site] [film] [photos] on the road to reach a wider audience.
Alan recently joined Exa Education, Bradford based multi-award winning supplier of broadband to schools and continues to support education, technology & Computing through advice, training and events.
Trivia: Alan appeared on BBC Breakfast in 2013, tweets as Teknoteacher and creates urban sketches.
