Michael Alao is an attorney with the Tallahassee, Florida law firm of Hopping Green & Sams. Michael’s practice focuses on a variety of litigation matters, including real estate and contract disputes, foreclosure actions, landlord and tenant disputes, private property rights, and taxation.
Before beginning his law career, Michael was the Cincinnati Public School district's chief internal audit executive from March 2009 through August 2012.
Michael began his audit career in 1999 at the Auditor of Public Accounts in Richmond, Virginia. From this position, he transitioned from the public sector to internal audit roles with multinational companies including International Paper and FedEx corporations in Memphis, Tennessee; and Wolseley plc, the World’s largest distributor of plumbing and heating supplies, based in the United Kingdom. Michael also worked for the global accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Internal Audit Services group out of the Tysons Corner, Virginia office and advised clients in the satellite radio, managed healthcare, health insurance, and software industries. Throughout his internal audit career, he has completed internal audit engagements throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States.
A 1999 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. During 2011, Michael earned his MBA from Xavier University, and immediately began to pursue a law degree at the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University with a concentration in Tax Controversy and Tax Litigation. Michael earned his J.D. on May 10, 2014. He remains a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Ohio and Virginia, and holds the Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner designations.
Michael passed the Florida Bar Exam in July 2014 and is admitted to the Florida Bar.
Michael is fluent in English and German.
