Albert Gardner brings his extensive expertise in flying and engineering to his current role as the first vice president of the Yuma County Airport Authority (YCAA). A member of the organization’s board of directors since early 2007, Albert Gardner has also chaired the group’s strategic planning committee and served on both the finance committee and the personnel committee.
Prior to joining the YCAA, Albert Gardner held positions with the Experimental Aircraft Association, a nonprofit aviation advocacy group that focuses its attention on homebuilt aircraft. Beginning in 2002, the retired engineer spent two years as the organization’s secretary, followed by an appointment as vice president, a role he held from 2005 to 2006. He remains active with the local chapter of the group.
A member of the Aircraft Owner and Pilot’s Association as well, Albert Gardner has been flying since 1968, when he qualified as a private pilot. He currently flies an RV-10.
