Albert Val

I'm a scriptwriter and story editor based in Barcelona, Spain.

I was the Director of Content for Filmax, an independent, Spanish audiovisual company, where I worked for almost ten years. In Filmax I was in charge of script development for our TV and cinema productions. I've worked on movies such as the "[REC]" franchise, international co-productions like “Perfume, Story of a Murderer” and "Transsiberian", as well as successful TV series such as "Polseres Vermelles", the remake rights for which were acquired by Steven Spielberg ("Red Band Society", produced by ABC Studios in association with Amblin Television and premiered on FOX).

I wrote the script of "Snowflake, The White Gorilla" (2011), a film combining CGI and live action and starring Elsa Pataky and Pere Ponce, that has been sold to several countries around the world. I also wrote the novel adaptation of the movie, which has since been published by Grupo Planeta.

And I also wrote and directed the TV documentary about bullying called "Everybody’s problem" (“Un problema de todos”) (2007).

I also teach scriptwriting courses at several universities such as the ESCAC, Ramon Llull/Blanquerna, ECIB and the online school El Foro Iberoamericano (Mexico).

In my free time I like writing, reading all kind of books, watching movies & TV series and playing guitar very loudly.
