Born 1962 at St. Luke's Hospital, Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The third child of Albert and Patricia Almeida. The Family name is Portuguesse ~DeAlmeida~ my dad did not give the De up from his name (which means= the family of ). My dad was born in Portugal. VoVo (Grand Mother in Portuguesse), Pie (Grand Father in Portuguesse), my father Albert and his brother, my Uncle Sal (the youngest of two) came to the United States from from Fornos De Algodres in the Northern mountains of Portugal. They traveled to the U.S.A. when my dad was about 6 years old.

Fornos de Algodres is a municipality and a town in Portugal with a total area of 131.5 km² and a total population of 5,435 inhabitants. The municipality is composed of 16 parishes, and is located in Guarda District, Centro Region, Serra da Estrela Subregion. The present Mayor is José Severino Soares Miranda, elected by the Social Democratic Party.

The seat of the municipality, Fornos de Algodres is a historic town and boasts panoramic views of the upper Mondego river Valley and a nineteenth-century market with nearby winding cobbled streets as well as the Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in mainland Portugal. Cities nearby: Mangualde, Gouveia, Seia, Guarda, Viséu, Trancoso, Pinhel.

Gastronomy: Queijo da Serra (hard cheese); requeijões (soft cheese).
