Dr. Albert Fornells received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering in 2003 and 2007 respectively from the Universitat Ramon Llull (URL), Barcelona, Spain. He achieved the AQU lecturer accreditation in 2008 and the AQU accreditation regarding to the excellence at the research period 2005-2010. Moreover, he taken a Postgraduate course related to social media in order to know better how to apply artificial intelligence in marketing at 2012.
He worked as as academic office manager, lecturer and consultant on artificial intelligence projects from 2003 to 2013 at campus La Salle (URL), where he got the category of associate professor. Since 2003 he created and taught subjects related to software engineering and artificial intelligence. With regarding to research projects, he has taken part as team leader and researcher in more than 10 research and development projects and he has published more than 35 articles in journals and international conferences.
He is currently a lecturer at TSI (Universitat Ramon Llull) and Software Development and Artificial Intelligence Mentor in XTOL where he teachs subjects related to computer science, software engineering and social media. Moreover, he is a researcher and a freelance consultant specialized in the application of artificial intelligence for the creation of decision support systems through machine learning and data mining techniques. His research interests include big data, data mining for knowledge discovery and machine learning for creating Decission Support System to help experts. He is particulary interested in research projects with a great application component on industrys such s healthcare, stockmarkets and social media.
