Student in Athens

Hello, I’m Albert! I’m a student attending the University of Georgia, also known as UGA, in Athens, Georgia. I am from Macon, Georgia and I hope to live somewhere in Europe in the near future! I love playing the piano, working out, and traveling.

Growing up as a Vietnamese immigrant in the United States has been an exciting, yet challenging experience. Living in an environment where you are perceived as different has personally been a struggle for me. Looking around I was the only odd one out, so that made it hard for me to find friends and talk to strangers. However, over the past few years, I grew comfortable living in this country. I made countless of close friends and people I can really talk to whenever I needed. But growing up as a child, it wasn't easy. During lunch and recess, I was often viewed as an outcast simply because I didn't look like everyone else and because of my physical traits. From being called racial slurs, to being pushed around, it was definitely a rough experience and one that definitely helped shaped who I am today.

I would describe myself as confident and resilient, and stubborn (in a good way). When I get tasked a difficult objective, I often try my absolute best to complete the task, no matter the difficulty. I am confident in my abilities to complete any task, and if I don't know what to do, I will try my best to learn how to.
