Hi, I'm Albert and this is my about.me page.

I chose this profile picture because it hauntingly encapsulates my deepest life desires and philosophies at the moment. The photo was taken from atop Cloud's Rest during my thru-hike of the John Muir Trail last year. For one, I'm sitting within perhaps my favorite physical place on the planet. In the background in the direction that I'm facing stands one of my greatest life goals, El Cap. I've got a goal to free climb El Cap before my 36th birthday. Climbing is my passion, I can't think of anything more rewarding and meditative; a pure intersection of art, physicality, and determination, climbing to me is about accepting massive challenges and conquering them by visualizing success and applying proper and patient technique and experience. Everything else in the world fades away momentarily as you strive to unlock sequences, listening intently to your body as it feeds you information about its balance and of the delicate and tenuous interface between your digits and the rock fabric. There's a lot of similar lessons in climbing and in life. Finally, the frame of the photo serves as an amicable reminder for us to focus deeply not on our pasts but upon the vast potential and breath of experience awaiting us ahead.

Bon voyage.
