Aleise Robertson

I’m Aleise Robertson, a writer and the social media manager for the spartan forum, the official student run newspaper of Skyline High School. I am a student at Skyline High School and enjoy writing about events and different things around the school to help spotlight less well-known parts of the community. I play soccer and basketball and love to bake and spend time volunteering in my community in my free time.

I have written a variety of articles with a multitude of topics, but mainly the articles I have written are focused on events and important things going on at Skyline High School. My articles are information driven and help give direct facts while also pulling in the experiences of high schoolers and their perspectives on topics and their own experiences. The purpose of each of my articles is to inform but the information is presented to readers in many different ways within the articles such as reviews, direct quotes and facts, or summaries all of which readers benefit from in different ways.

Journalism has allowed me to get a better understanding of those around me and their experiences and perspectives that often go unnoticed. It has helped me branch out and talk to more people that I wouldn't normally talk to, which has helped me have more empathy for those around me and get a better understanding of different situations. I have learned that journalism is not just reporting facts to readers, but it is about showing the humanity within every situation.
