Project Manager in Las Vegas

Hi, I’m Alejandro McGarvie — a finance professional turned systems thinker with a deep background in public sector innovation, fiscal strategy, and operational leadership.

Over the past several years, I’ve worked across government, nonprofit, and corporate environments, most recently serving as Fiscal Manager and acting Senior Program Administrator at the Nevada Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation. There, I led budget development, state and federal compliance reporting, legislative collaboration, internal audits, and cross-agency financial operations, often acting as the point person for federal agencies like the U.S. Department of Labor and Department of Education.

Before that, I supported growth and community development at the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, where I helped automate financial dashboards and optimized membership recruitment strategies. I’ve also worked in banking, higher education recruitment, and accounting, gaining hands-on experience with SQL databases, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and public budgeting systems like NEBS and AFS.

I thrive where strategy meets execution — whether it's building scalable processes, leading teams through uncertainty, or designing systems that actually work for people. I’m currently focused on combining my financial acumen with technology and entrepreneurship, building toward my next chapter.
