Alejandro Vilarello, Esq. is a founding partner of the law firm of Vilarello, Gonzalez & Associates who together with his partner N. Betty Gonzalez, Esq. specialize in real estate closings and title work.

Mr. Vilarello also specializes in corporate law, zoning and land use, as well as business litigation. Most recently Mr. Vilarello served as General Counsel for the Prestige Companies and its legal matters. Mr. Vilarello has more than 25 years of legal experience, including extensive experience in land use, zoning, condominium law and construction law.

Formerly a shareholder in Akerman Senterfitt's highly regarded land use and governmental relations practice area, before joining Prestige as its General Counsel in 2005.

Prior to entering private practice Mr. Vilarello served as the City Attorney for the City of Miami the largest city in the state of Florida and played an integral part of the city's resurgence as a world class city, coming from the brink of bankruptcy in just a few short years. Mr. Vilarello held the position of City Attorney for the City of Miami from 1998 to 2004. As the City Attorney he served as legal counsel to elected and administrative officials and supervised a staff of over 30 lawyers.

Mr. Vilarello first joined the City of Miami in 1983 as an Assistant City Attorney and rose to become the Chief of the Litigation Division in 1990. In that capacity, he was responsible for defending all lawsuits filed against the City of Miami, its employees and its public officials.

In 1990, he became the City Attorney of the City of Hialeah the fifth largest city in the State of Florida, a position he held for eight years. He was responsible for providing legal analysis and advice to elected officials, department, division heads and supervised the city's Risk Management Department.

Mr. Vilarello received his bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida in 1979 and his juris doctor degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law in 1982.
