Alen Ribic
Cape Town, South Africa
I'm Alen, a South African entrepreneur, co-founder of SweepSouth and education activist. I'm passionate about solving real-life problems through maths and computer science.
At SweepSouth, we connect professional, experienced and insured cleaners with homeowners, and in doing so bring technology to an industry that has remained unchanged for decades. We are also passionate about helping to address unemployment in South Africa by connecting domestic work professionals with work opportunities. For our customers, we provide a convenient, easy and trusted service to get their homes cleaned, so they can do better things with their time.
In addition to my professional pursuits, I am enthusiastic about computer science and basic education. In 2013, I engaged the Department of Basic Education with a petition to reconsider their intention to impose the use of Delphi on schools. I have served on committees and have given numerous talks relating to the South African Computer Applications Technology (CAT) and Information Technology (IT) education curriculum.
