Alessandra Cannito is a Toronto based singer and voice actor. Crediting her Italian heritage for her love of music and performance, Alessandra has wide variety of entertainment credits in her 15 years of experience -- beginning at the age of nine.

With a start on the stage, her many theatre credits include Dorothy in The WIZ, Gabriella in High School Musical, and The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts’ RYC, where she was the proud recipient of their inaugural “Performer of the Year Award.” Most recent credits include “Top 20 Dorothy” in CBC’s Over the Rainbow.

Over the past decade, Alessandra has performed for galas and special events including a Canadian Citizenship Ceremony, NHL games, and the Glenn Gould Foundation’s Ninth Laureate celebrations for Leonard Cohen. She has had the pleasure of working and recording with many Toronto artists such as Elaine Overholt, Jack Lenz, Lou Pomanti, Justin Abedin, and Jully Black, and has sung backup for the great Jackie Richardson and Italian pop-rock artist Carlo Coppola.

Alessandra takes great pride in all of her charity events including the Easter Seals Foundation, Breast Cancer Foundation, Future Possibilities, the Wings of Hope Foundation, and MacMaster Children’s Hospital. While attending Ryerson University, she took the opportunity of the Media Production Practicum to produce a charity album for MusicCounts, starring Emily Claire Barlow, The Carpet Frogs and more.

In addition to writing, recording, and performing music, Alessandra’s voice can be heard in cartoons such as the Care Bears, Berenstain Bears, and Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends. She has also guest starred in movies and TV series, including Disney’s Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure starring Ashley Tisdale, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and the host of B.SMARTtv.
