This was home for more than the last 5 years of our circumnavigation... M.Y. Haganes launched in Oslo, Norway 1907. I lived through the conversion from coastal frieghter to a motor yacht.... mostly in Turkiye and South East Asia.

Steven and I ....and usually a crew member... brought her from Bergen, Norway to Langkawi, Malaysia.. via Izmir, Turkiye.

The old girl did not leave her native waters willingly.. there were very tough times along the way..

We lived aboard Haganes in the Izmir ship yard while the work was going on .... for nearly one year...

MV Haganes underwent all the steel work that would be required for the conversion.. including 40 tons of fuel storage..and the guest deck cabin..

In reality the conversion never ended... she loved to be maintained and be the most beautiful old girl in the fleet..
