My name is Alex Edson, I’m 23 years old, and I am the Chairman and CEO of eBrands — a digital media asset management company that I founded after the sale of my first venture.

Below is a little bit about me (I promise to do my best not to sound too much like an egotistical maniac).

I started making silly internet videos when I was around 12 years old (good luck trying to find them) and soon fell in love with YouTube.

One thing led to another and I eventually moved from making YouTube content to managing YouTube talent.

At the ripe age of 13, I became a Talent Scout for TGN (a division of BroadbandTV).

Within under a year, I became the youngest Sales Executive in BBTV’s history; personally onboarding 120 million+ monthly views during my tenure.

From age 14 – 15, I worked at a number of MCNs ... absorbing everything that there was to learn about the YouTube talent management industry; recruitment, video optimization, creator support, administrative, etc.

At 16, I was ready to launch my own network: PowerTV.

24 months after launching the agency, PowerTV was generating over $50,000 a month in top-line revenue.

All of our growth at that time had been achieved without a single dollar of outside capital (I was too young to sign for any loans).

By mid-2017, with over $10M in total sales, PowerTV was doubling in size almost every month.

Aggregating 200+ channels, PowerTV also boasted a network-wide run-rate of 10 billion+ annual views.

For relative perspective, Disney acquired Maker Studios for $675M in 2014, which posted network-wide viewership of around 36 billion annual views (at the time of their acquisition).

Notable PowerTV clients included Jake Paul, Unspeakable Gaming, and many others.

Following PowerTV’s exponential growth, I merged the company with ScaleLab (a leading MCN) in early 2018.

A few months later, ScaleLab was named the Fastest Growing Media Company in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine.

After the success of PowerTV, I retired from the YouTube industry.

But my retirement was short-lived.

After selling a software company and making a few startup investments as an angel investor (Automattic, Udemy, Palantir, etc.), I was ready to get back into the YouTube game.

After raising $1.5M from friends and family, eBrands now owns and operates several YouTube channels (each with over a million subscribers) ... and we’re just getting started!
