I still see many times the same type of questions so I'll try to clarify how is the basic content in iRacing today and what can be run and what can not.

Registering for iRacing is simple and really cheap, there are codes for a month or 3 months test for just a few dollars, anyway if you like what you see in YouTube videos or what your friends say, try to take advantage 40% discounts for new members.

You only need a credit or debit card or a Paypal account and it is totally secure.

The basic content consists of 13 cars of which only 7 or 8 are used in official series. The other 5 or 6 come from obsolete content although they are updated and receive certain global improvements from time to time. You can not try other cars except in the maintenance periods where the testdrive.iracing.com page is activated. Some of the cars in the package are:

Cadillac VTS

The circuits theme is also sufficiently supplied with 14 tracks between ovals and ruteros that allow up to 29 different configurations. More than enough to throw the first months without spending a penny more. For example:

Summit Point
Lime Rock Park
Charlotte Motor Speedway
Daytona
Phoenix

What can you do with this content? Well iRacing has it well thought out with the Rookies championships where the 12 weeks use only basic content so you can use these vehicles in these circuits and enjoy or curse Rookies classes. Right now there are 6 series available, 3 official, to run with these cars every week, while in more advanced classes also have part of basic content combining more payment circuits, which will allow you to run the week that matches what you have in possession.

There is nothing to unlock or add as you go, just the classes that you can run according to your track safety index. More security, more possibility of running high classes.
