A techno-optimist and Managing Partner at Qiming Venture Partners - a leading venture capital firm managing USD$10B in raised capital. Recognized as one of the most active investors in deep tech, Alex spearheads investments in AI, robotics, autonomous driving, and electric vehicles.
His portfolio includes a dozen listed companies and unicorn companies, including Roborock (SHSE:688169), Transwarp (SHSE:688031), UBTech (SEHK:9880), HyperStrong (SHSE:688411), Unisound (SEHK:9678), Yunji Technology (SEHK:2670), Zhipu AI, Biren Technology, StepFun, ROX Motor, Viewtrix Technology, Mech-Mind Robotics, and Axera. He also invested in other high-growth companies, including Chaitin Tech (acquired by Alibaba), IDsManager (acquired by Alibaba), DeepWay, DST, Infinigence AI, AiEdu, and ShengShu Technology.
Prior to Qiming, Alex worked for Kleiner Perkins (KPCB) in both China and Silicon Valley. Before transitioning into his investment career, Alex was at Hewlett-Packard (HP) responsible for data storage business in China.
Alex has been featured in the Forbes China Venture Investors 100 for several years.
Alex is on the management committee of China Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program, a project committed to training and empowering rural industrial entrepreneurs and social enterprise entrepreneurs.
Alex sits on the advisory board of Beijing Stock Exchange.
