Alexa Contreras

As a high school freshman from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, I like to write, speak Spanish, play softball, and hang out with friends.

Playing softball has been a hobby of mine for 5 years. Each summer I look forward to starting a new season with new teammates. My favorite position is center field.

My plans for after high school are to become a doctor or something similar to that. The medical field has always been an interest to me, and I also have been open to making a difference in other peoples' lives.

Academically, my interests are English, Science and Art. As I said before, I like to write because it's a way of self expression to display my skills to others in a way other people might not think of.

Occasionally, I like to try things out of my comfort zone, like doing Solo & Ensemble for band (I play flute), or entering a contest like GISHWHES (A contest that involves teammates from anywhere in the world & requires you to complete funny, inspirational or helpful tasks for a certain number of points) that I did for a week over the summer.

Outside of school, traveling also interests me. I have been to Mexico over five times and I hope to travel to other countries in the future also.
