Alexa is a Marketing Ph.D. Candidate in her fourth year at the Fogelman College of Business & Economics, University of Memphis. She served as Chair (2013-2014) and Chair Elect (2012-2013) of DocSIG, the American Marketing Association Special Interest Group for marketing doctoral students.
Alexa’s research interests include digital marketing, online reviews, neuromarketing, and online privacy. Her dissertation seeks to gain a better understanding of the linkage between textual characteristics of online consumer reviews and company performance as well as how reviews influence consumers' information processing. She recently and successfully defended her dissertation proposal.
Alexa's work has appeared in various journals including the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Affairs (forthcoming), Journal of Current Issues & Research in Advertising (forthcoming), and Journal of Transportation Security, as well as at various national conferences, including the American Marketing Association (AMA) Winter Marketing Educators Conference, AMA Summer Marketing Educators Conference, AMA Marketing & Public Policy Conference, Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) Annual Conference, and American Academy of Advertising (AAA) Conference.
