"When life gives me lemons, I eat them."
Stereotypes frustrate me and I refuse to be put in a box. It took me a long time to really understand that it doesn't matter what other people think of me as long as I am happy. Now I do what I like and try to ignore those who spend their time judging.
Similarly, I make an effort not to blindly judge others. Our society has become superficial, basing everything off appearances. Call me naïve, but I believe that everyone has a story, and everyone has something positive that they can contribute to the world.
I have many interests. I played Division II soccer in college, was part of an A cappella, a double major and avid reader. However, what I am most interested in is making an difference. I don't want to just fly through life and then look back to see that I left nothing meaningful behind. I have adopted Gandhi's quote, "be the change you wish to see in the world," as a personal mantra. It may seem cliché, but nothing would make me happier than positively impacting someone's life. And like I said before, I do what makes me happy.
