Alexander Thompson

Alexander Thompson is a game economist and designer in San Francisco working on an ambitious mobile MMORTS.
Alexander earned his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University in 2013 and went on to perform post-doctoral research at NASA Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley. He has previously written about science for The Verge.
As a game designer, he uses his background in science to enhance his designs, his experience in computing to to give his designs a quantitative edge, and his writing to communicate difficult ideas and intricate systems to people with a wide array of backgrounds.
Alexander volunteers with the International Telementor Program, which helps high school students engage in the creative and analytical challenge of designing and carrying out an engineering project.
