Alexander Mokbel was born and raised in Clarksville, Tennessee. After graduating high school he attend the University of Tennessee. He plans to earn his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration–Finance with a concentration in Logistics and a minor in Portuguese. He is currently a sophmore at the university and plans to graduate in 2015.
During his freshman year, Mokbel participated in the Venture Living Learning Community. This was a business-focused program that gave him the chance to volunteer at the University of Tennessee Medical Center Cancer Institute. The program also allowed him to enroll in business courses offered exclusively through the Venture L.L.C. Through the duration of the volunteer work, he visited cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment, conducted data entry for prostate cancer research, and had the rare opportunity to observe the surgical removal of stomach cancer.
When he is not attending the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Mokbel enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and playing the guitar and ukulele. He has traveled to South Africa where he attended the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Other countries he has visited include the Netherlands, Lebanon, Liberia, Costa Rica, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Italy, Cyprus, and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. His favorite authors are Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, Ernest Hemingway, and H.G. Wells.
