Alexandra Froehlich Hankinson

Alexandra Froehlich Hankinson is a proud wife, mom, and higher education professional dedicated to supporting students and building safe, caring communities.

She currently serves as the Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Conduct & Ethical Development at San José State University, where she leads a team serving a diverse community of more than 40,000 students. In her role, Alexandra oversees Student Conduct, Behavioral Intervention, and Ombudsperson services, supporting a coordinated and student-centered approach to care, accountability, and community well-being.

Previously at SJSU, Alexandra served as Associate Director for Student Involvement, overseeing student organizations and Fraternity & Sorority Life. Before coming to the Bay Area, she held several roles at Loyola Marymount University across Fraternity & Sorority Life, Student Government, and Residence Life. She also served as an adjunct professor with LMU’s Ignatian Leadership Institute, facilitating conversations around leadership and social change.

Alexandra earned her B.A. in Mathematics from Loyola Marymount University and her M.A. in Educational Leadership and Administration, with an emphasis in Student Affairs, from the University of the Pacific. Her graduate research focused on spiritual development and the fraternity and sorority experience.

Throughout her career, Alexandra has been actively involved in professional organizations including ASCA, NASPA, and ACPA and has been recognized for her commitment to students and the field of higher education.

Outside of work, Alexandra loves crafting, sending greeting cards, and going on adventures with her family. You can also often find the Hankinson family cheering on Spartan Football and supporting SJSU Athletics, where her husband oversees equipment operations for the NCAA teams, with football as his primary sport.
