At present, Alexandra Balaci is working toward her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Pennsylvania's Villanova University, where she is undertaking classes as part of a pre-dental program. A member of the dean's list every semester since enrolling at the school, Ally Balaci also belongs to the Order of Omega, Alpha Epsilon Delta, and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars in recognition of her academic achievements. Additionally, Alexandra Balaci completed summer coursework in humanities in Siena, Italy, through Università degli Studi di Siena.
Expecting to obtain her degree in 2013, Ally Balaci has already gained a good deal of experience in professional and intensive settings. She completed the Summer Intern Program at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research; over the course of eight weeks, she conducted research for public health and biomedical professionals, and she aided in the drafting of a grant proposal seeking funds from the National Institutes of Health. In addition, Alexandra Balaci attended several seminars on aspects of bioethics, and she condensed her findings into a poster presentation. To further prepare for her career, she has honed her skills in techniques such as liquid and gas chromatography, ultraviolet spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.
In other experience, Ally Balaci spent six summers as Assistant Tennis Pro with Stone Harbor Recreation Department in New Jersey. A former standout in the sport and member of the 2008 All-Berks team in Pennsylvania, she taught novices, intermediate players, and advanced athletes alike, through both one-on-one lessons and group clinics.
Currently, in addition to her studies, Alexandra Balaci fulfills the duties of Retail Salesperson for Charlotte Shoppe, a clothing store in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, where she has worked since 2005. Ally Balaci also participates in volunteer opportunities through a fraternity on campus, holds a seat on the Science Advisory Board of The Villanova Career Center, and leads The Villanova Club Tennis Team as team President.
