A highly trained educational professional currently pursuing postgraduate work at Columbia University, Alexandra Karlson began preparing for her career at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where she earned a bachelor of arts in Anthropology with a minor in Spanish. Later, she received a grant from Americorps, an organization dedicated to fostering sustainable acts of community service in communities around the United States. Following this, she gained acceptance to Fordham University, where she received a master of arts in childhood education. Dedicated to continually expanding her pedagogical knowledge, completed Fordham’s Ennis Cosby Graduate Certificate Program. After discovering an interest in chid language development and literacy, she enrolled in the speech pathology pre-professional program at Kean University in New Jersey to complete prerequisites.
In her spare time, Alexandra Karlson enjoys keeping fit with activities such as long-distance marathon running, martial arts, and biking. An avid reader, she especially enjoys narrative historical nonfiction and books penned by author Junot Diaz.
