"The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it" Steve Jobs

After receiving a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University, I served as an AmeriCorps member through an education program in New Haven, CT. Teaching and mentoring children burdened by loss, poverty and a lack of familial structure, I quickly learned how deeply my presence was felt in these children’s lives, and how large of an impact I could have on their futures. I continued in the non-profit world as a Youth Camp Director and Site Coordinator for the same organization working at a summer camp and after-school program serving youth in New Haven.

What I have learned from my experiences working and serving the youth in New Haven cannot be adequately measured or quantified, I am only certain that, at times, my heart overflowed with joy as I taught and empowered children to be strong, confident leaders who thrive in the face of adversity.

I completed a Children's Yoga Teacher Certification through Full of Joy Yoga and combined my love of yoga, arts and crafts, and psychology with my pressing desire to help urban youth in New Haven, CT. I practice what I preach to my children, and that is that you can do anything you put your mind to.

The therapeutic power of yoga is limitless. Skills that children learn through yoga are lifelong. Children learn to utilize breathing and relaxation techniques to address stress and negative feelings while simultaneously learning how to delay gratification and manage their own behavior. Yoga also teaches children the importance of inner strength, balance, and focus as they gently move through different poses and learn how to harness positivity and core strength.

I offer an accomodating yoga practice at various different levels. I work with props, music, and art. Classes are perfect for birthday parties, special occasions, after-school programs, or simple health and fitness classes.
