Alexandra von Roepke

Mezzosoprano Alexandra von Roepke, who hails from Berlin, was on her way to become an actress at The Volksbühne Berlin, when she rather randomly discovered her voice. She then spent 11 years in Italy, where she studied at the world renowned Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome finishing her studies with some of the highest academic and artistic honours. Alexandra supplemented her studies at the Conservatorio by studying with the incomparable mezzo soprano Christa Ludwig - and Sergio Oliva, music director at the Rome Teatro dell’Opera .

Alexandra von Roepke has been seen in many productions in Germany recently, including Madama Butterfly, Maria de Buenos Aires, La finta giardiniera, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Cavalleria Rusticana, Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte, Der Zigeunerbaron, Hänsel und Gretel, Rheingold, Cinderella, 100 years of John Cage and so much more...mostly in Italy and Germany (at State Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Komische Oper, Philharmonie Berlin). Ms von Roepke has also been the featured singer in opera tours of Japan. The next season is an exciting one where Ms von Roepke will be appearing in berliner opera houses and concerthalls.

Alexandra is also a singing teacher and a coach for languages/pronounciation for performers,

a translater and a writer (lately mostly of opera librettos)
