Alex is the Circular-CEO of Wizeimpact (Wizeimpact.com), a for-purpose company that leverages business-as-a-powerful-tool to find solutions to our social and economic challenges.
In 2013 Alex was part of the Circular Economy 100 club of companies (with then Cisco Systems) organized by The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, foundation that made Circular Economy visible to a wider business audience. Since then he has published several papers and delivered numerous speeches on Circular Economy, a restorative economic framework that is reshaping our capitalist model.
In 2014, he has developed a socially inclusive version of Circular Economy: A Valued Circular Economy where [Poverty=Waste], as both are externalities of our linear system. He has presented it at the Business of Social & Environmental Innovation (BSEI) platform (Oct’14 - University of Cape Town, Graduate Business School) and is now invited by The Ellen MacArthur Foundation to present it at the Disruptive Innovation Festival (Nov’15 - ThinkDIF).
[Poverty=Waste] & Alex' work on the promotion of Circular Economy in South Africa are shortlisted for the World Economic Forum award programme - The Circulars 2016.
Alex graduated with an MBA from Hult Boston, MA, USA (2011) with electives in Social Innovation and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has a Master Degree of International Organization Administration and Humanitarian Law (2005) with a thesis on “Ivory Coast and its Ivoirité Identity Crisis” and, a diploma from ECOA Ethics School, MA, USA (2012). Lastly in 2014, he achieved “Towards the Implementation of a Circular Economy” by UVED (European Digital Universities) and “The Age of Sustainability” by Professor Jeffrey Sachs, Columbia University, New York, USA with distinction.
